One of this summer’s biggest Hollywood box office movies should be Land of the Lost starring Will Ferrell which opened on Friday, June 5h.  This movie is a remake of the 1974 childrens TV series of the same name.  My recollection of it was that it was pretty cheesy.  But, is it the worst TV show of all time?  Entertainment Weekly says not.

EW.com recently published its list of the top 35 most appalling TV shows ever.  Here are the top ten:

1.  The Jerry Springer Show

2.  The Bachelor

3.  The Littlest Groom (a show about a little person looking for love among other little people and, just for a comparison, a few regular sized girls as well.)

4.  My Super 16 (a show following the sweet 16 party planning of some really spoiled girls.)

5.  The Simple Life (Paris Hilton….enough said.)

6.  Big Brother

7. Chains of Love (a person agrees to be chained to four other people of the opposite sex for four days in the hopes that something sexual will happen and they are filmed throughout the process.)

8.  Wife Swap (two wives switch houses and husbands.)

9.  Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire.

10.  Keeping Up With the Kardashians

(And, after watching a couple of episodes of NBC’s new prime time show I’m A Celebrity.  Get Me Out Of Here.  My guess is that makes next year’s EW most appalling TV shows list.)

Here are a couple of ways you could execute this list on the air.  You could ask listeners to call in and guess what they think is on this list first and then conclude the idea by giving the exact list.  You could also give out the list first and ask listeners to comment on what’s missing or what should not be on it. Be sure to bring this second idea to a clear resolution by giving the top 3-5 listener-generated worst TV shows of all time in the last break.
