BE NICE TO NEW JERSEY WEEK

July 5-11 is officially Be Nice to New Jersey Week, a week designated to recognize the assets of the state most maligned by comedians.  This is a week NOT to tell joke like this.  Why do seagulls fly upside down in New Jersey?  Because they can’t find anything worth crapping on.

If you are in a market that understands this phenomenon here are a few “You might be from New Jersey if” items you might want to use on your show:

1. You don’t understand why there aren’t more 24-hour diners elsewhere in the country.

2. You can name all the flavors of salt water taffy.

3. You say “water” weird (wooder).

4. The Jets/Giants game has started fights at your local bar.

5. There are no self service gas stations and you like it that way.

6, You know what skeeball is and you can get three 50′s in a row.

7, You’ve eaten a pork roll and cheese on a hard roll and like it.

8, You use a minimum of 10 variations of the word “damn” while driving.

9, Your drinking water should not be used for drinking.

10. You once said, “It smells like New York in here.”
