VICTIMS OF THE ECONOMY WE’D LIKE TO SEE?

There have been a lot of businesses negatively affected by the bad economy over the last couple of years. One of the most recent victims was Gourmet Magazine. Conde Nast publications announced that it is closing down Gourmet magazine after 68 years. For those of us who love food and cooking this is a very disappointing decision. Why Gourmet magazine? Why not some other magazine that really sucks like The Weekly World News whose recent headlines included, “Minister Sees Jesus in Curtains” and “Short People are Luckier”?

This brings to mind the topic, “What Things Do You Wish Would Go Away Due to the Economy?” You could start with the obvious things like snotty waiters and arrogant service people, then work your way down a little deeper. For example, I wish the economy would cause the shoe company that makes Crocs to only produce them for children. There are few things less manly than seeing a 30 year old guy slip off a pair of Crocs in an airport security line. Solicit your audience for the economic victims they’d most like to see. Then make a list of your top five victims of the economy we’d like to see.
