TRAVELERS ARE INCREASINGLY DISSATISFIED WITH BOOKING ONLINE

Booking your own trip online often requires hours of researching destinations, hotels and airline flights.  According to one study by Forrester Research, there is growing dissatisfaction with do-it-yourself travel planning.  There are 15% fewer travelers who enjoyed using the Web in 2009 than there were in 2007, according to the study.  Only one in three online travelers believe that travel Web sites do a good job of presenting travel choices, down from 39% in 2008.

It also seems that using a travel agent may be making a comeback.  62% of consumers who used a travel agents said their agent was “extremely influential” or “very influential” in their choice of vacation products.  That is up from 56% in 2008 and 54% in 2007, according to research by Ypartnership/Yankelovich.
