ADMIT IT! THE WINTER OLYMPICS ARE BORING!

Is it just me or are the televised Vancouver Winter Olympic events really boring? I was sitting in a restaurant having lunch with friends yesterday and on the television was NBC covering the biathlon. The biathlon is basically a combination of cross country skiing and target practice with rifles. For hours there were videos of men on skis going from target to target firing their rifles. The problem was that NBC covered the event with only one camera so we only saw the shooter and never saw the target. That meant we couldn’t even see how good or not good the shooting actually was. Oh my god was it ever boring. The biathlon made the golf tournament airing on the second television in the restaurant look scintillating!

This brings to mind the topic, is anyone really watching the Winter Olympics and if so why? Consider challenging your audience to give you three good reasons why you should invest your precious free time watching the Winter Olympics on television this year. My guess is they won’t be able to come up with much of anything other than there are Americans competing over there.
