WE ARE BUYING MORE STORE BRANDS THAN EVER

Another sign of the economic times we live in is the increase in the popularity of store brands.  More than 57% of grocery-store customers say they buy store brands frequently – an all-time high according to a recent survey.  Private-label rice, frozen fruits and vegetables, and canned goods, in particular, are top sellers, say retailers.

Apparently when we try those store brands many of us like them more than name brand products.  Of those who switched to generic packaged goods, 43% prefer them to more expensive brands.
