THE A-TEAM IS BACK

A new movie version of the 1980′s hit television show The A-Team opens in theaters today. The role of Hannibal Smith, originally played by George Peppard, is played by Liam Neeson in the new film.

While George Peppard was technically in the lead role in the series which ran from 1983-1987, Mr. T, the ex-bouncer who played B.A. Baracus, became the real star of the show. In my mind, B.A. was one of the best TV tough guy characters of all-time and I pity the fool who disagrees with me.

With this in mind, it could be fun to try to put together a list of the Top 5 TV Tough Guys of All Time. Here is my list:

1. Tony Soprano – Nobody whacked more people on TV than Tony did.

2. Jack Bauer – 24′s leading man shoots, kills and maims more people in one episode than most TV tough guys do in a lifetime.

3. B.A. Baracus – The A-Team never killed anybody on the show so B.A. has to rank below the first two tough guys but he looked meaner than any other character on television.

4. MacGyver – Okay so he’s not so on-the-surface tough, but when a guy can use a paper clip to defeat you, he has to make the list.

5. Dwight Schrute – I know this Office character doesn’t seem as tough as the other guys but I know he has tough guy skills he just doesn’t use. Jim could never beat Dwight in a cage match.
