Scientists at the University of South Dakota investigated the way blood glucose impacts the way we think about present and future rewards by testing subjects who had sugary or diet drinks. When offered a small amount of money the next day or a larger sum at a later date, those with lower blood sugar tended to opt for short-term rewards.
