WHAT IS THE CORRECT FONT TO USE FOR A RANT?

As if there wasn’t enough hype going on already about Lebron James’ departure for Miami, there is now also the great font controversy.  On Friday morning Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert wrote a scathing open letter about Lebron’s unfaithfulness to his hometown saying things like, “Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.”  The letter, described by one sports writer as “cramazing” as in crazy-amazing, was apparently originally written in, what bloggers are calling, the “childish” font Comic Sans MS.  (In case you don’t know what that looks like this sentence has been written with Comic Sans MS.)  Apparently only six-year-olds and grandmothers are allowed to use this font, according to the font snobs I read.

Is there really a font hierarchy that I am just unaware of or are all of these bloggers just making this up?  Personally I’d like to know if there are any other fonts out there that I need to avoid just in case I ever feel the urge to write a ranting open letter to the media and public.  So, consider the topic, “What is the Correct Font to Use For a Rant?”

Since this is a visual idea you may need to post a few options on your website so that listeners can go to it to see the options.  Then, have your listeners vote on which one Dan Gilbert should have used instead of Comic Sans MS.  To bring this to complete resolution send the results of the font poll to Dan Gilbert so that next time he does not commit a font faux pas.
