Scientists at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School found that when animals were exposed to palmitic acid – the saturated fat in ice cream and red meat – fat molecules caused their brains to ignore appetite-suppressing signals from the hormones leptin and insulin. Translation: The body doesn’t realize it’s full. Since the fat will [...] There was a time when America’s favorite ice cream flavors were chocolate and vanilla. Well, according to a new Harris poll, while chocolate is still number one, vanilla now has some competition for our second flavor of ice cream. Tying vanilla for the number two spot is now cookie dough and cookies and cream. In a recent experiment, Britain’s Royal Horticultural Society found that tomato plants grew up to two inches higher when women talked to them, compared with plants chatted to by men. Score another one for female superiority! If you think some of your favorite foods and the packaging they come in are getting smaller but still cost the same you would be right.
